Vineyard SignAmigoni Family Vineyards
The estate vineyard for Inland Sea Winery is Amigoni Vineyards. Michael and Kerry Amigoni purchased the vineyard in year 2000 and they had the first planting 2001. The focus from the beginning was to grow vinifera grapes and make the best wine in the Midwest. For a couple of years, they sold their fruit to other wineries. Beginning with the 2006 harvest, the fruit was sold to the Inand Sea Winery for wine production. After a set back with the Easter freeze of 2007, the harvest for 2008 was 11 Tons of outstanding fruit. We currently have Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvedre, Petit Verdot, Chardonnay and Viognier in the cellar aging at Inland Sea. With the wines in the barrel now, we know that the best is yet to come. Please stay tuned.

Kinkead RidgeKinkead Ridge - Vineyard and Winery
Ron met Michael at the Midwest Grape and Wine Conference at Tan Tara in 2001. They instantly had a common thread; both starting to grow vinifera in cold climate states, Ron in Ohio and Michael in Missouri. Ron's growing knowledge really has been an inspiration to what we are doing here in Missouri. John would visit Ron and Nancy when doing business in Cincinnati and learn a lot about their winery. Ron and Nancy are our heroes!

A vineyard hobbyist and web designer from mid-Missouri, Dave learned from hanging out at Michael's vineyard that it's possible to grow premium vinifera in our climate. With a bloc of Cabernet Franc and Mourvedre ready to plant next spring, there's no turning back now. Vinestress.com documents the travails of growing vinifera in the Midwest.
